I had made over a million dollars in my last buiness. For over a decade we had a wonderful income and allowed us to travel the world with our ministry and even open an office in Africa. Then unforeseen circumstances out of my control dropped our income by 80% and our savings were lost. I tried many ways to increase our business and income but nothing worked. For 4 years we were in desperate times.

My wife and I love to give - it's been our life for over 30 years. We fully support our ministry office and staff in Africa. When our income dropped we couldn't do much any longer. We could only send minimal amounts to support our partners in Africa who depended on us. We couldn't help our children with their car repairs or other needs. It tool a toll on my relationship with my wide and we felt the tension of having little money. I rarely had enough to take her out on a date. The real heartache was that we are both very smart, educated and talented people - yet nothing was working for us.

For over 40 years my wife Marylyn and I have been in full time ministry - directing a non-profit mission agency, and for all of these years we have derived our income from outside contributions.
